THE GREEN HOUSE, Bournemouth – A Smart Stay in the City
About the Hotel
Rooms & Amenities
The Green House offers 32 rooms in a restored Grade II Victorian villa. Options include small doubles (4ft6 beds), classic doubles (5ft beds), large doubles (6ft beds with Victorian roll-top baths), and deluxe doubles (6ft beds, roll-top baths, and bathrobes). All rooms have 32-inch LED TVs, goose-down duvets, organic cotton linens, and walk-in showers with natural stone basins. Some feature reclaimed Victorian baths. The hotel uses FSC-certified wood furniture, vegetable ink wallpaper, and eco paint.
Dining at Arbor
The on-site Arbor Restaurant holds 2 AA Rosettes and serves seasonal, locally sourced dishes. The à la carte menu includes options like fresh gazpacho, cured mackerel, and local lamb shoulder, priced at £35 per person with a glass of English prosecco. Breakfast features Dorset-sourced ingredients, and afternoon tea is available. The bar stocks organic spirits and soft drinks.
Sustainability Focus
The hotel runs on solar panels and a combined heat and power system. Dishwashers use solar-heated water, and lighting is controlled by motion sensors. Furniture is made from storm-felled wood, and wallpaper uses vegetable inks. The menu prioritizes organic, high-welfare ingredients, and milk is delivered in reusable pails.

Guest Ratings & Reviews
I had a delightful stay at this hotel. The room offered a cozy retreat with a leafy view, a comfortable bed, and a lovely garden vista. The service was top-notch, with a receptionist personally guiding us to our room upon arrival, and the attentive staff ensuring a pleasant experience throughout. The location, nestled in a quiet leafy area within walking distance of the seafront, was perfect for a peaceful getaway. However, the dining options were somewhat limited, and some additional facilities would have enhanced the overall stay.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room I stayed in was lovely, with a beautiful view over the garden. The service was exceptional, especially the young gentleman at the bar on Saturday evening who provided superb service. The location is in a quiet leafy area, perfect for a relaxing getaway, and very close to a lovely beach in Bournemouth. The dining options were good, especially for European dishes. Overall, a great experience worth the value.
